Job Title: Structural Engineer

We are seeking a Structural Engineer to provide sales technical support by ensuring proper estimates and preparing takeoffs for joist and deck projects. This role involves working closely with the District Sales Managers and the estimating team to assess client drawings and help price the product. The Structural Engineer will also collaborate with the technical engineering team and coordinators to ensure seamless delivery to the client.

Responsibilities

• Assist with technical knowledge to complete quotes for customer bids.
• Serve as the point person for estimator and coordinator technical questions.
• Engage in value engineering to provide competitive bids for larger projects.
• Support the sales supervisor in technical communication with various stakeholders including DSMs, estimators, coordinators, customers, engineers, and architects.
• Ensure proper process procedures for estimating and entry inputs.

• Expertise in structural engineering.
• Proficiency in sales and structural steel design.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a client-facing approach.
• Strong math skills.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively under deadlines.

• E.I.T or P.E. certification.
• Knowledge of the steel joist and deck industry.
• Familiarity with JEDI, OIS, Excel, Word, Blue Beam.

The position is based in Butler, IN, and requires collaboration with both the Sales and Engineering teams. Initially, the role involves spending time with the engineering team to become familiar with structural steel design for joists and decking. The role includes travel, typically 1-2 days a month within the Midwest, to attend trade shows, visit customers and project engineers, deliver presentations, and participate in lunch and learns. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $36.06/hr.
