- Be a part of the project team and under the supervision of Professional Engineers, performing manhole inspections throughout the City of Akron sewer systems.
- Provide knowledge of municipal infrastructure in a real-life application of civil engineering.
- Locate manholes, take pictures using a tablet, and perform inspection for infiltration and cracks are the main goals for this work.
- You will be able to gain both field and office experience.
- Current student at an accredited college or university working toward bachelor’s degree in Civil (preferred) or Environmental Engineering.
- Ability to lift manhole covers up to 80 lbs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products required. AutoCAD or ArcGIS experience a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat and work outdoors.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Akron residency is highly preferred.
