B&N Landscape Architect Responsibilities
- Create and develop scopes of work, fee estimates, and budgets for transportation and civil infrastructure projects, including local agency and alternative delivery pursuits.
- Based on relationships, project management ability, and technical strengths, serve as client manager, project manager, and/or task lead for selected local public agency and transportation projects.
- Monitor project performance indicators, budgets, schedules, scope, and risk to support successful delivery of projects from concept through construction.
- Support the planning, design, and delivery of transportation projects with an emphasis on roadway aesthetics, complete streets, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, streetscape enhancements, trail and park connections, and community-focused infrastructure improvements.
- Coordinate with roadway design teams, contractors, subconsultants, owners, and stakeholders on local alternative delivery projects, including design-build efforts.
- Provide project management and technical coordination for alternative delivery work, including support for proposal development, scope refinement, stakeholder communication, and risk awareness throughout project delivery.
- Lead or support public involvement, stakeholder engagement, and environmental compliance coordination for transportation and community infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and/or oversee high-quality graphics, renderings, exhibits, presentation materials, and visual communication tools for project development, public meetings, marketing materials, and Letters of Interest.
- Participate in and/or lead the preparation of permitting support, contract documents, and construction-phase coordination for applicable projects.
- Actively lead and participate in project delivery to create an exemplary client experience and maintain quality work that meets or exceeds expectations for budget, schedule, and responsiveness.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships with local municipalities, counties, INDOT districts, MPOs, park and recreation agencies, transit agencies, and contractor partners throughout Indiana.
- Represent B&N in client meetings, public meetings, industry events, and marketing functions to support business development and strengthen relationships.
- Support strategic business planning, development of client relationship programs, and identification of new business opportunities in the local transportation and community infrastructure market.
- Collaborate with roadway section leadership on staffing, project pursuits, and delivery strategies for local agency and alternative delivery projects.
- Provide training, coaching, and mentoring for junior staff and support collaboration across disciplines and offices to strengthen project delivery and team development.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Architecture
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator/InDesign/Photoshop, SketchUP, Hand Rendering, ArcGIS and other graphics software's.
- General knowledge of relevant engineering software, modeling and Civil 3D technology
- Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance
- 20 years' experience
- Strong communication skills, quality control, and organization skills are essential to the success of this role.
- Desire and ability to work in a group setting and to mentor junior staff members supporting projects.
