- Designing or checking all elements of bridge rehabilitation and replacement projects primarily for the Indiana DOT and LPA’s within Indiana but may also participate in similar projects across the US. When design is complete, this position is responsible for creating or checking plan details for these projects. The position will include review of INDOT and Consultant developed submittals through the INDOT Design Review Contract
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate the design and detailing phases of the engineering work
- Assists with development of project scope and schedules with oversight, monitors budgets and schedules, attends public meetings and presents technical data
- Perform work which involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features, which may require devising new approaches to problems encountered
- Assist with proposal preparation and marketing as well as business development, interviews and presentations as appropriate
- Bachelor of Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- 6 years of professional experience
- Must have PE registration
- Knowledgeable of Indiana DOT Design Manual, Design Memos, procedures and other resources as well as AASHTO Bridge Design Specifications
- Proficient in using Microstation Openroads Designer, Microsoft Excel and Word, CES Estimating Software, Bentley OpenBridge Designer or similar concrete design software, MDX or similar steel design software preferred
