Assistant Quality Managers are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company’s quality management and sanitation systems. They commonly work with other managers to ensure that all employees are following established procedures and policies related to quality control and sanitation.

Assistant Quality Managers are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company’s quality management and sanitation systems. They commonly work with other managers to ensure that all employees are following established procedures and policies related to quality control and sanitation.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist the Quality Manager in developing, implementing, and maintaining the quality management and sanitation systems.
- Assist with internal and external audits of the quality management system and follow up on corrective actions.
- Participate in regular staff meetings to discuss quality and sanitation issues and concerns.
- Monitor compliance to quality and sanitation policies, procedures, and objectives.
- Author and review SOPs, WIDs, and policies to ensure compliance and adherence to regulations.
- Demonstrate leadership to motivate the team, delegate tasks, and inspire the team to work together to achieve company goals.
- Investigate customer complaints and take appropriate corrective action.
- Train employees in quality control and sanitation procedures.
- Investigate root causes of non-conformances.
- Prepare quality and sanitation reports for management.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Act as a backup to the quality assurance manager as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s or bachelor's in food science, nutrition, or equivalent experience.
- 3 years' experience in quality assurance; 1 year experience in sanitation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- English and Spanish skills strongly preferred.
