What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Technician position at Building Material Distributors, Inc.?
Starting Pay: $27.00 per hour (based on experience)
What You'll Do
- Diagnose and repair window and door performance issues.
- Inspect products and identify root causes of service concerns.
- Replace components, hardware, weatherstripping, glass, and related materials as needed.
- Perform adjustments and basic finish carpentry repairs.
- Distinguish between product-related and installation-related issues.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding findings, recommendations, and repair procedures.
- Complete service documentation and jobsite photos accurately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Work closely with the Lead Service Technician and Service Manager to deliver outstanding customer service.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational carpentry training preferred.
- 1 years of window and door installation, carpentry, remodeling, construction, service, or a related trade.
- Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills.
- Experience using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physical jobsite work.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
