Role Overview
The Project Engineer plays a critical execution role in supporting the delivery of façade projects from design through installation. This position ensures seamless coordination between engineering, project management, fabrication, and field operations.
The Project Engineer is responsible for maintaining alignment between technical design, project scope, schedule, and execution. This role requires strong attention to detail, proactive communication, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
This is a hands-on, detail-intensive role serving as a key link between the office and the field—ensuring that drawings, materials, and information flow accurately and efficiently to support on-time, high-quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Coordination
- Support Project Managers in executing project plans
- Track and manage project documentation, timelines, and deliverables
- Coordinate between:
- Engineering
- Fabrication
- Procurement
- Field operations
2. Submittals & RFIs
- Prepare and track:
- Submittals
- Shop drawings
- Requests for Information (RFIs)
- Ensure all submittals meet project specifications and deadlines
- Maintain organized submittal logs and status tracking
3. Drawing & Design Support
- Review engineering drawings for accuracy and constructability
- Assist in coordination between design intent and field execution
- Identify discrepancies or conflicts and escalate appropriately
- Support revision control and document updates
4. Procurement & Material Tracking
- Assist with tracking material orders and delivery timelines
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure alignment with project schedules
- Maintain procurement logs and identify potential delays
5. Field Support
- Act as a liaison between office and job site
- Support field teams with:
- Technical clarification
- Drawing interpretation
- Issue resolution
- Participate in site visits as needed
6. Project Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and organized project files
- Track:
- Change orders
- Project updates
- Key milestones
- Support reporting needs for project and leadership teams
7. Issue Identification & Risk Management
- Proactively identify potential project risks
- Escalate issues early to prevent impact on schedule or cost
- Support resolution through coordination and follow-through
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 0–3 years of experience in construction, engineering, or project support
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Experience in façade systems or specialty subcontracting
- Familiarity with:
- Shop drawings and submittals
- Construction documentation processes
- Exposure to project management or field coordination
