Role Description
This is an on-site contract role for a Basketball Instructor located in Westwood, NJ. The Basketball Instructor will be responsible for planning and conducting basketball training sessions, teaching skills and techniques, and fostering teamwork and sportsmanship among participants. The instructor will ensure a fun and safe environment while tailoring instruction to meet various skill levels and ages. They will also maintain equipment, provide feedback to participants, and collaborate with staff to improve the program.
Qualifications
- Basketball Coaching, Skill Development, and Physical Fitness Training experience
- Ability to effectively mentor and lead youth in sports and foster teamwork and discipline
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with participants, parents, and staff
- Organizational skills to plan, execute, and adapt lesson plans to suit varying participants' needs
- First Aid and CPR certification is preferred
- Prior experience working with children in a teaching or coaching capacity is a strong asset
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; a background in sports sciences or physical education is a plus
