Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Double, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations to maintain precise financial data.
  • Prepare and process journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to support financial operations.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to verify the accuracy of financial statements.
  • Assist with payroll processing, and compliance activities related to governmental accounting standards (GAAP).
  • Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses and assisting in financial report writing.
  • Maintain organized records of all financial documents, including invoices, receipts, and reports, ensuring easy retrieval for audits or reviews.
  • Collaborate with team members on technical accounting issues such as double-entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting.
  • Provide operational support by managing administrative tasks like data entry, email drafting, follow-ups, phone inquiries, and document management.

Experience

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably with construction/trades and/or inventory.
  • Strong proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Double, Asana or similar platforms; experience with GAAP standards is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and bank reconciliation processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting accurately.
  • Experience in payroll processing and accounts payable/receivable management is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
  • Basic proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office tools such as Excel (including 10 key typing) for financial report writing and data analysis.
