Room Service Server

JOB PURPOSE:  To deliver and serve food and/or beverage items in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner resulting in guest satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·         Set up room service trays and tables in anticipation of incoming orders.

·         Have ability to take in-room dining order, place order with kitchen, set the table, and pick up the order from the kitchen or bar. When picking up, ensure that order is complete, i.e., all food, beverages, alcoholic beverages, and all condiments.

·         Carry trays up to 30 lbs. or push wheeled carts to deliver room service orders to guests in a

friendly and courteous manner to ensure guest satisfaction. After set up, present the check and obtain payment. Once payment is received, close out ticket.

·         Remove trays and tables from guest floors and returning them to

designated locations.

·         Prepare complimentary amenities and deliver them to guest rooms.

·         Attend mandatory meetings.

·         Perform all assigned side work, such as replenishing condiments and restocking side stands.

·         Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards.

·         Keep the work area clean and organized.

·         Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.

·         Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):

·         Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.

·         Knowledge of the appropriate table settings, service ware and menu items.

·         Ability to read, speak, and write the English language in order to communicate with guests.

·         Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items.

·         Ability to operate beverage and toast equipment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Previous food service experience is a plus

·         Must follow safety precautions and requirements

·         PPABC Liquor Certification or successful completion of the PPABC Liquor Certification course

·          Must be at least 21 years of age.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

·         Standing/Walking, 100% up to 4 hours at a time

·         Ability to grasp, lift, push, pull, and carry or transport otherwise move materials weighing up to 50 lbs. on a continuous basis

·         Ability to move throughout building, bend, stoop, and reach on a continuous basis up to an 8-hour shift.

·         Shift work required.  Required to work weekends, holidays, and possible overtime.
