General Education Teacher

Position Summary

The General Education Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing instructional lessons aligned with state standards and district curriculum. The teacher creates a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional development of all students while promoting student engagement and academic success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with state and district curriculum standards.

• Deliver instruction using a variety of teaching strategies to meet diverse student learning needs.

• Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments and adjust instruction accordingly.

• Establish and maintain a structured, respectful, and supportive classroom environment.

• Monitor and document student progress and communicate performance with students, parents, and school staff.

• Collaborate with special education staff, instructional aides, and colleagues to support student success.

• Maintain accurate records including attendance, grades, and required documentation.

• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school initiatives.

• Follow school policies and procedures while promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field.

• Teaching certification preferred or required depending on position.

• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.

Compensation

• Bachelor’s Degree (Non-Certified Teacher): Starting salary $48,500

• Bachelor’s Degree (Certified Teacher): Starting salary $50,500

Salary may increase based on experience, advanced degrees, and applicable certifications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid state teaching certification.

• Prior teaching or student teaching experience.

• Experience working with diverse student populations.
