Minimum Qualifications:

- Administrative certification preferred
- Minimum of three years of experience as a teacher or administrator

Position Description
The Assistant Principal partners with the Principal to promote a positive, inclusive, and accountable school culture. This role provides leadership in discipline strategy, student support systems, and attendance. The AP also supports school events, advisory programming, and culture-building efforts. While not directly instructional, the AP addresses behavior and culture within classrooms to support teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Culture Planning
- Analyze and share monthly discipline and attendance data
- Create and implement action plans to improve student behavior
- Lead culture events (e.g., Student of the Month, assemblies, recognition)
- Organize and assign advisory lessons and character education
- Attend grade-level meetings to assist with behavior concerns
- Assist grade chairs with field trip planning and supervision
Restorative Practices & Behavior Support
- Facilitate or oversee PSR circles and student mediations
- Collaborate weekly with PSR, ISS, and social work teams
- Support restorative approaches to discipline and reintegration
- Attend MDRs and formal hearings as assigned
- Schedule and lead return-from-suspension meetings
Visibility, Safety, & Systems Oversight
- Supervise hallways, transitions, and common areas
- Enforce dress code and support arrival procedures (e.g., phone cart, wanding)
- Conduct locker and classroom checks when needed
- Support lunch duty, school store, and other accountability systems
- Assist with school safety drills as a CIRT member
Operational & School-Wide Support
- Prepare and distribute detention lists
- Assign consequences and follow up with staff and families
- Communicate behavior outcomes to families and affected teachers
- Support all school events, including after-school and cultural programs
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal or Chief Talent Officer
