Buehler Asphalt Paving Inc. is a long standing, reputable, family owned business located in St. Marys, OH. We have provided asphalt service to Midwest Ohio since 1975. Our work consists of residential and commercial asphalt repairs and new construction. We currently have 21 employees and are now seeking a project estimator to join our team.
Job Description
The project starts with you. The project estimator is responsible for evaluating project plans, visiting job sites, and developing accurate cost projections for customers and project owners. Buehler Asphalt was built on strong customer relationships and quality work. The Estimator plays a critical role in maintaining those standards by building trust with customers, clearly communicating project scope, and helping set each project up for success.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and understand project plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Perform site visits to evaluate job conditions, measurements, and scope of work
- Calculate square footages, material quantities, labor requirements, equipment needs, and subcontractor costs
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates and proposals
- Submit bids within required deadlines
- Track projects out for bid and maintain estimating records
- Ensure all project addendums and change orders have been updated
- Meet and communicate with customers to clarify project scope and expectations
Qualifications
- Experience in asphalt paving, sealcoating, or construction estimating preferred
- Understanding of asphalt materials, paving procedures, and site preparation preferred
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Strong math and analytical skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency in word, excel, and outlook
- Strong attention to detail
- Self motivated and willing to learn
- Provides a positive attitude
