SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager

A growing real estate investment platform is seeking an experienced SEC Reporting Manager to lead financial reporting and disclosure processes across affiliated entities. This role offers strong visibility across finance and leadership teams, with responsibility for delivering accurate, timely filings while improving reporting processes and controls.
The position sits at the intersection of accounting, reporting, and operations, and will play a key role in scaling the organization’s reporting infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and filing of periodic reports (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K) in compliance with US GAAP and SEC requirements
- Manage the quarterly close-to-file process, including cross-functional coordination
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure completeness and accuracy of disclosures
- Support drafting and review of MD&A and other narrative disclosures
- Oversee XBRL/iXBRL tagging and filing accuracy
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, automation, and controls
- Research accounting issues and prepare technical memos and documentation
- Monitor new accounting and disclosure guidance and assess the impact
- Support the implementation of accounting policies and reporting requirements across entities
- Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting
- Coordinate with external auditors on quarterly reviews and annual audits
- Support audit processes, including documentation and comment resolution
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
- 6–9 years of relevant experience in public accounting and/or SEC reporting
- Experience owning or supporting full-cycle SEC filings (10-Q and 10-K)
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
- Effective technical writing and communication skills
Preferred Experience
- Public accounting background (Big 4 or similar)
- Experience in real estate, investment management, or related industries
- Familiarity with complex entity structures and multi-entity reporting
- Experience working with external service providers or administrators
- Exposure to SEC reporting systems and process improvements

Salary : $135,000 - $155,000
