Manager, SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting

A growing, innovation-driven real estate investment and development company is seeking a Manager of SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting to lead external reporting and technical accounting for its portfolio of public and non-public entities.
This is a high-visibility role for a technically strong CPA who enjoys owning the full SEC filing process, drafting MD&A, and serving as the go-to resource on complex accounting matters across the organization.
The Role The Manager will serve as the operational lead for all SEC reporting activity — managing the close-to-filing workflow, coordinating with external auditors, and driving disclosure quality and process improvement. In addition to supporting public reporting entities, the role provides technical accounting guidance across non-SEC entities through research and memo writing.
What You'll Do
- Manage the preparation, review, and timely filing of Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, and related SEC submissions in compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements
- Draft and refine MD&A in collaboration with senior leadership, legal, and finance teams
- Lead the quarterly close-to-filing workflow including coordination of internal controls and disclosure processes
- Oversee XBRL/iXBRL tagging and reporting accuracy
- Monitor new FASB and SEC pronouncements and assess their impact on reporting
- Research and draft technical accounting memos on complex transactions including leases, business combinations, and debt
- Strengthen internal controls over financial reporting and coordinate quarterly reviews and annual audits
- Interface directly with external auditors on review and filing comments
- Drive continuous improvement in reporting processes, automation, and governance controls
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
- 6–9 years of progressive experience in public accounting and/or SEC reporting
- Full-cycle SEC filing experience (10-Q and 10-K) required
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC disclosure regulations
- Strong technical writing skills; MD&A drafting experience preferred
- Big 4 background strongly preferred

Salary : $140,000 - $155,000
