What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional (High Support Needs Client) position at BTTR LIVING?
BTTR Living is looking for a kind, reliable, and committed person to support an adult with high support needs in a one on one setting. This role focuses on helping someone stay safe, build routine, and stay active in their daily life and community.
We are looking for someone who is patient, dependable, and ready to be part of a consistent support team.
Schedule
Availability between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.
Monday through Sunday
A consistent schedule will be assigned. We do our best to provide stable hours while also respecting approved time off and availability.
What You Will Do
- Support daily routines and provide supervision
- Assist with safe movement and transfers (client uses a wheelchair)
- Help prepare simple meals such as breakfast, lunch, and dinner
- Support outings like church, volunteering, or community activities
- Help keep the client’s personal space clean and organized
- Follow a clear daily structure and provide steady support
What We Expect
- Be respectful, patient, and professional at all times
- Keep work related concerns with management, not the client
- Be present and engaged during your shift
- Communicate clearly and show up reliably
Requirements
- Ability to assist with lifting and transfers of about 90 to 100 lbs with proper training
- Comfortable working in a home with pets
- Basic cooking skills
- Reliable transportation
- Must pass background clearance
- IHSS enrollment is a plus or willingness to apply
