Direct Service Professional

Kainos is seeking full and part time Direct Service Professionals.  This person will work with adults who are developmentally disabled in our AB Residential Program. We are looking for an applicant who is kind, responsible, comfortable taking initiative, and has excellent time management skills. The ideal applicant will be able to work both independently and cooperatively within a dynamic team of staff who collaborate regularly to provide a safe and stimulating environment for those we serve. This position requires working afternoons and evenings and weekends. Orientation and on the job training are provided.

SHIFTS AVALIABLE:

• Sunday - Wednesday 11a to 7p and Thursday 9a-5p

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide individual instruction in all skills of daily living to multiple consumers with developmental disabilities. (Areas of instruction include, but are not limited to: communication, financial management, cooking, shopping, and healthcare management.)
• Transport and supervise consumers in community activities.
• Implementation of daily household routines.
• Documentation on a daily and monthly basis.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma required, BA/BS strongly preferred
• Experience with developmental disabilities preferred
• Must be a self-starter and able to work to independently
• Must be dependable, reliable and able to be flexible with schedule
• Demonstrate enthusiasm, ability to problem solve, good communication skills and the ability to multi-task.
• Valid CDL, clean driving record
• California Department of Justice and FBI fingerprint clearances.
• Must have a valid Drivers License and be able to drive clients as needed.

PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

• Ability to remain standing or walking as needed.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, twist, push and pull repetitively as needed.
• Ability to remain seated for a period up to 4 hours.
• Ability to lift 20 lbs occasionally with assistance.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS

• Maintain current American Red Cross CPR and Standard First Aid certification.
• Be able to pass a physical examination and TB test.
• Have a clean driving record and criminal record.
• Be cleared to drive Kainos vehicles.
