What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solutions Architect - Polygraph Required position at BTI360?
About The Team
Here at BTI360, we’ve built a culture that’s passionate about developing software engineers. Software doesn't build itself. People do. In fact, teams of people do. That's why our primary focus is on developing better craftsmen, better teammates, and better technical leaders. By putting people first, we're not just giving our teammates more opportunities to grow, we're also raising the bar of the software we ship. BTI360 previously has been voted 10 years in a row as a TOP Place to Work by the Washington Business Journal.
This is not a "plug-and-play" role. It’s a chance to transform how BTI360 designs solutions. As our first dedicated Solution Architect hire (working with our Head of Solutions Architecture), you will deliver high-impact AI solutions for our most critical mission partners and help shape the Solution Architecture practice at BTI360. You’ll champion a cultural shift from solution implementers to solution designers, embedding with teams to ensure our approach is AI-first, scalable, and secure while relentlessly focused on mission outcomes.
You will have a seat at the table to determine how we engage with clients, how we bridge the gap between sales and engineering, and how BTI360’s product suite is deployed at scale across the National Security landscape.
Core Responsibilities
At BTI360, we believe that unlocking the potential of others is not just a mission—it's the heart of our culture. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where every individual can grow each day, lead with humility, and do the right thing. Our core values guide us in developing software that makes a difference, primarily serving national security customers in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. We do not discriminate against any employee or applicant based on race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristics. We celebrate fairness and are dedicated to creating an environment of mutual respect and inclusion where everyone can bring their true selves to work.
Join us in a workplace where your contributions are valued, your growth is encouraged, and your potential is unlocked. Together, we develop great software fast and deliver exceptional solutions for our customers.

Core Responsibilities
- Practice Co-Creation: Partner with the Solutions Architecture Practice Lead to establish templates, methodologies, and "gold standard" architectures for the Horizon suite. Your feedback will directly influence our Go-To-Market strategy.
- Mission-Critical Discovery: As an expert in our knowledge engineering methodology, you’ll translate complex mission workflows into structured logic (rules, ontologies, prompts) that drive AI-powered solutions. You will work closely with analysts, operators, and mission experts to systematically capture explicit documentation, tacit process knowledge and decision logic. You’ll turn expert tradecraft into a knowledge layer the BTI360 product suite can reference, ensuring solutions are innovative and accurate in the mission context.
- Applied AI Orchestration: You’ll design end-to-end architectures leveraging Generative AI and agentic frameworks. You’ll act as the Master Planner who knows how all the pieces (data, models, UI, knowledge bases, security) fit together. Crucially, you will architect solutions that ensures the system knows which information to retrieve and when, to prevent hallucinations or context drift.
- The Bridge (Pre & Post-Sales): Own the technical narrative end-to-end. You’ll envision and demonstrate the ‘Art of the Possible’ through innovative prototypes and compelling technical stories that assure our customers. You’ll translate vision into an executable roadmap and clear architecture documentation for our engineering teams. You will align delivery teams with your solution’s intent, design decisions, and mission context and provide ongoing architectural guidance to ensure the as-designed vision becomes the as-built reality.
- Product Influence: Act as the voice of the customer. Use your frontline experience to tell our product team what features need to be built to solve real-world mission gaps.
- Architectural Leadership: 8 years of experience. You’ve built complex systems before and know where the "hidden" pitfalls are in enterprise software deployments.
- Applied AI Fluency: You understand the mechanics of LLMs, vector databases, and prompt orchestration. You know how to apply AI to solve a problem without getting lost in the hype.
- Foundational Mindset: You thrive in "Version 1.0" environments. You are excited to build the processes, documentation, and workflows that future SAs will follow.
- Mission Literacy: You hold an active TS/SCI with Poly. You understand the unique constraints of working in high-side environments and the nuances of the Intel Community.
- Deep Consultancy Background: Experience in a client-facing role (Big 4, Boutique Digital Firm, or internal Strategic Lead) where you had to manage stakeholders as much as technology.
- Knowledge Engineering Skills: Proven ability to take complex mission rulebook and distill it into a structured, machine-executable logic flow. Ability to extract expert knowledge from domain SMEs and encode it into usable formats (decision rules, ontologies, knowledge graphs, or carefully crafted prompts) that feed our AI engines.
- Systems Thinker: You understand APIs, data schemas, and cloud-native patterns. You can sit with a Software Engineer and explain exactly what the system needs to do.
- Entrepreneurial Spirit: Since this is a foundational hire, you must be comfortable "wearing many hats"—from whiteboard strategy to detailed implementation oversight.
- Domain Insight & Influence: Experience working closely with Intelligence Community stakeholders to map business workflows and pain points. You can translate vague mission needs into concrete technical requirements and know how to shape customer thinking via whitepapers, demonstrations or strategic discussions and recommendations to drive adoption of new capabilities. You can successfully navigate customer bureaucracy and policy hurdles to implement innovative solutions.
- Impact: You are helping build a practice from the ground up, not just filling a seat.
- Innovation: Work with a cutting-edge GenAI product suite that is actively changing how the IC handles data.
- Influence: Your success will define the "Horizon Way" of delivering AI.
- Fully paid healthcare premiums
- Competitive salaries and performance bonuses
- Career development and in-house training
- Tuition Reimbursement
- Up to 5 weeks PTO plus 2 weeks of federal holidays
- 401K dollar for dollar matching up to 6% annually - vested immediately on day 1
- Giving Back: Serving communities locally and across the globe
- Social Events (happy hours, golf tournament, BTI360 Family Festival and more)
