Job Title: Dump Truck DriverJob Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Dump Truck Driver to join our team. You will be responsible for the efficient and safe transport of materials such as dirt, gravel, asphalt, and construction debris to and from various job sites. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of site safety, is comfortable maneuvering in tight or uneven terrain, and takes pride in maintaining their vehicle.
Responsibilities
- Safe Operation: Safely operate heavy-duty dump trucks to transport and dump materials at designated job sites or disposal facilities.
- Site Navigation: Maneuver trucks safely into and out of active construction zones, navigating uneven terrain, tight spaces, and traffic conditions.
- Pre/Post-Trip Inspections: Perform mandatory daily inspections of the truck’s mechanical systems, hydraulic dump mechanism, and tires to ensure DOT compliance and safe operating conditions.
- Material Handling: Ensure loads are properly secured, tarped, and within legal weight limits before leaving the site.
- Maintenance: Keep the vehicle clean and report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the fleet manager immediately.
- Compliance: Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws, as well as specific job site safety protocols.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate daily logs of trips, materials hauled, and hours worked.
Qualifications
- License: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B (as required by your fleet).
- Experience: Proven experience driving dump trucks or similar heavy equipment.
- Skills: Ability to operate manual transmissions and handle hydraulic dumping systems efficiently.
- Physical Ability: Capability to perform basic labor tasks, such as cleaning the truck bed or securing tarps in various weather conditions.
- Reliability: Strong commitment to punctuality and following strict delivery schedules.
- Safety Focus: Clean driving record and a deep understanding of construction site safety awareness.
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
