Job Overview
BS&T LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Equipment Operator / Foreman to join our team for general and civil construction projects. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for both the precise operation of heavy construction machinery and the leadership of site crews to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to our high quality standards.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Operations Foreman and will be held responsible for the timely and safe completion of all assigned jobs.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Excellence: Operate a variety of heavy machinery—including excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, and dump trucks—with precision and strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Site Leadership: Supervise on-site crews, coordinating daily activities, workflows, and resource allocation to ensure project milestones are met or exceeded.
- Direct Reporting & Accountability: Report directly to the Operations Foreman regarding project progress, site issues, and team performance; take full responsibility for the completion of all assigned tasks.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce all company safety policies and federal construction regulations. Conduct regular safety briefings and maintain a "safety-first" culture on the job site.
- Maintenance & Records: Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance. Maintain accurate documentation of site activity, equipment usage, and maintenance logs.
- Project Execution: Oversee site preparation, grading, and utility-related tasks, ensuring work aligns with project plans and specifications.
Qualifications
- Experience: Proven, extensive experience in heavy equipment operation and crew supervision within the general and civil construction sectors.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of civil construction site practices, including grading, excavation, and utility work.
- Communication: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate teams and interact professionally with the Operations Foreman.
- Reliability: Commitment to maintaining a safe, organized, and productive job site.
- Driving Record: Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean record.
