About This Opportunity
Brunswick County is currently accepting applications for a Utilities Warehouse Supervisor to join our Public Utilities Department. Under limited supervision, the Warehouse Supervisor performs specialized skilled work related to the purchasing of goods and supplies to support utility operations, including:
- Acquiring and administering contract services.
- Inventory maintenance.
- Supervising warehouse activities and warehouse personnel.
- Building maintenance proposal requests.
- Providing technical services and support related to procurement needs for water and sewer system operation.
Work will require the Warehouse Supervisor to communicate effectively with other County departments, shippers, vendors, manufacturers, and other material providers. The Warehouse Supervisor reports directly to the Utilities Purchasing Manager and will provide back up to the Purchasing Manager as needed. This position is considered an ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEE POSITION under County Policies.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, finance, or related field AND three (3) years of experience in water and sewer material procurement and management; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Valid North Carolina or South Carolina driver license required.
- Class A CDL or ability to obtain during probationary period is required.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO), Certified Public Manger (CMP), and/or Certified Professional in Supply Chain Management designation preferred.
Physical Requirements
Must be physically able to operate personal computer, related office equipment, and motor vehicle. Physical demand requirements are for medium work. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
