About the Role: CNC Drill Steel Operator
The CNC Drill Steel Operator plays a key role in the production of Brunner & Lay’s high-quality steel tools. This position is responsible for operating CNC machines that drill steel rods according to precise specifications. Success in this role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to interpret technical drawings. The operator’s work directly impacts the durability and reliability of our products, which are trusted in demanding environments worldwide.

Machine and Process Control – Utilize both manual and automated controls to execute drilling operations.

Equipment Surveillance – Stay alert to detect unusual machine behavior or malfunctions.
Product Inspection – Visually and dimensionally inspect drill steel rods for process completion and accuracy.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience operating CNC equipment in a manufacturing or metalworking environment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and production instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in CNC machining or a related technical field.
Familiarity with CNC programming and editing.
Working knowledge of quality control systems and measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
Primary Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC drilling machines to meet daily production targets.
Read and follow technical drawings to ensure accuracy of drilled components.
Conduct in-process inspections and adjust machine settings as needed.
Perform preventive maintenance tasks and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production flow and potential issues.
