Position Summary:
Provide engineering and technical support for consumable tooling used in mining and construction. Responsibilities include product design, testing, troubleshooting, customer support, and continuous improvement. This role involves up to 50% travel. Experience in the mining industry and underground environments is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct field testing of new and existing products to support sales and ensure performance and reliability.
- Provide on-site technical assistance to address and resolve product-related issues, interfacing directly with end users.
- Design, develop, and revise tooling products to support product lifecycle management and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate product testing programs, including test methods, data collection, and analysis.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and recommendations for internal stakeholders and the sales team.
- Educate and support the sales force and customers on product application, proper usage, and troubleshooting.
- Offer engineering support to the manufacturing plant for production-related improvements.
- Assist with CNC programming, production setups, tooling, and gauging processes.
- Collaborate with the Quality Manager and Product Manager to align on product and process quality standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Mining preferred but not required).
- Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel throughout North America as required.
- Capability and willingness to work in underground environments.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Experience with parametric CAD software; Autodesk Inventor preferred.
- Experience in mining, quarrying, or related industries is a plus.
