Brunel is currently searching for several Materials Managers for a long-term contract position with our client’s mine sites located throughout Arizona. This position will work directly at one of the active mine site based on a 4x1 rotation.(Bagdad, Miami, Safford, or Morenci)


You will plan, direct and ensure all aspects of integrated materials storage, receipt, issue, ordering, inventory, container management, and requirement definitions for capital project related materials are executed in a consistent manner globally. You will also be responsible to oversee individual project materials organizations to ensure project objectives of safety, scope, cost, and schedule are met.


Essential Functions:

  • Participate in the development of a Project Materials Execution Plan, outlining strategies, processes, and staff requirements.
  • Develop consistent reports of material status for the project.
  • Participate in logistics, planning and execution, including packing, inspections, and transit of capital goods.
  • Develop tracking controls systems to ensure efficient execution of the project.
  • Collaborate with Global Supply Chain leads to ensure compliance with site requirements, and optimum utilization of resources and staff.
  • Ensure critical materials and supplies are accurately and safely stored and issued to construction personnel as needed.
  • Oversee effectiveness of project materials staff and report to project management improvement opportunities.
  • Oversee system interface (receiving, storing, issuing) accuracy to ensure compliance and excellent material accuracy.

  • Budgetary responsibility: Prepares budget segments for review by others by pulling all components together and making recommendations.
  • Managerial responsibility: Manages supervisors or mid-level professional individual contributors


Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED and fourteen (14) years’ experience in inventory management, systems & project management and analysis projects required, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related discipline and ten (10) years combined experience in inventory management, system & project management and analysis projects required, OR
  • Master’s degree in Business, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related discipline and eight (8) years combined experience in inventory management, system & project management and analysis projects required.
  • Construction experience with an ability to maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety requirements.
  • Leadership ability and strong management skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers in a business environment: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is essential.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a high-paced project environment.
  • Experience with ERP system, materials management software, and SAP.
  • MUST be eligible to work in the U.S. for any employer without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with large copper production and related facilities.
  • Prior EPCM experience preferred.
  • Working as a team member (Client, EPCM & Contractors).


Offer:

  • This position is based on a 10-hour workday, 5 days/week. Flat daily rate.
  • 4 weeks working at job site. 1 week off unpaid at home.
  • Contractors will receive fully furnished, single-status accommodations within 1 ½ hour commute to site, along with rental car, flights to and from home, and monthly stipend of $750/mo. for living expenses. Fuel reimbursement for commute to and from site.
  • Full-time employees are eligible for benefits. Benefits include medical, dental and vision that will begin on your first day of employment. 401K matching – 50% match, up to 3%.
  • Position includes accrued 3 days of PTO, and accrued 5 sick days satisfying Arizona state law. No paid holidays.


Environment: This position will be working on property of an active mine site. All employees will be MSHA trained and must adhere to strict rules and regulations while on property. Must be able to work standing for long periods of time. Walk on multiple, sometimes uneven surfaces. Work outdoors. Dress code enforced and strict adherence to code of conduct. Must wear long pants, long sleeved shirts, and steel toed boots. Safety vest, hard hat, safety glasses and any other PPE will be provided at site.
