Overview
This role is responsible for supporting and leading health and safety activities across site operations. You will oversee safety programs, ensure compliance with regulations, and drive a strong safety culture across the workforce. The position involves both field-based oversight and coordination of safety initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and support health and safety programs across site operations
- Conduct audits of processes and facilities to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements
- Provide safety input into production and maintenance planning activities
- Lead hazard assessments, risk evaluations, and implementation of corrective actions
- Manage and support incident investigations, including root cause analysis and risk evaluation
- Coordinate and oversee health and safety projects and initiatives
- Act as the main point of contact during regulatory inspections and ensure proper documentation and follow-up actions
- Perform regular site inspections and address any safety non-conformities
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations
- Deliver safety presentations and provide guidance to employees, supervisors, and stakeholders
- Support continuous improvement of safety processes and procedures
- Carry out additional duties as required
Role Scope
- Works on complex safety issues and implements effective solutions
- Collaborates closely with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Operates with a moderate level of autonomy in setting priorities and managing workload
- May support budget tracking and planning activities
- May supervise personnel and lead safety-related projects or programs
This role operates on a rotational schedule of four weeks working on site followed by one week off, during which no work is required.
Requirements
- Experience leading teams, projects, or safety programs
- One of the following:
- High school diploma or GED with at least 7 years of relevant experience
- Associate’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience
- Master’s degree with at least 1 year of relevant experience
