Overview
We are seeking an experienced Instrument & Electrical Technician III with a strong electrical background to support operations in an oil & gas production environment. This role focuses heavily on medium to high voltage systems, power distribution, and field troubleshooting, with exposure to SCADA systems for operational monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, test, and repair electrical and instrumentation systems supporting production facilities
- Troubleshoot power distribution systems, including 480V and 13.8kV equipment
- Interpret and respond to system conditions using SCADA monitoring tools
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, procedures, and regulations (PTW, LOTO, OIMS)
- Support maintenance planning and execution to ensure system reliability and uptime
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams
- Provide technical support for electrical and control systems troubleshooting
- Participate in and support Management of Change (MOC) processes
- Inspect new installations and recommend system improvements
- Act as backup support for I&E Lead when required
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or relevant technical certification
- Proven experience in oil & gas, production, or processing facilities
- Strong hands-on experience with medium to high voltage systems (480V to 13.8kV)
- Experience with power distribution and facility electrical systems
- Familiarity with SCADA systems (monitoring and troubleshooting)
- Working knowledge of PTW, LOTO, and safety procedures
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills
Preferred Experience
- Background in upstream or midstream oil & gas operations
- Experience in offshore or remote field environments
- Exposure to PLCs and control systems
