About Us:
Brown USA is a family-owned international distribution company based in Doral, Florida, specializing in retail-packaged hardware goods exported to markets throughout the Caribbean and Central America. As a licensed Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operator with a CBP "Low Risk" designation, we've built a reputation for compliance and operational excellence over 30 years in the industry.
The Opportunity:
Two of our most tenured team members anchor our Accounting and Traffic Control operations. This role was created to learn directly from them — absorbing institutional knowledge — before transitioning into one of these seats permanently. This role is on-site.
We import approximately 200 containers per year, and our outbound shipments range from a few pallets, to full loads, last stops etc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learn and perform Accounting procedures as assigned by our Accounting Team. Examples include but are not limited to:
· Bank Reconciliations
· Balance Sheet Reconciliations
· Journal Entries
· Depreciation schedules
· Etc
- Learn and perform Logistical procedures as assigned by our Logistics Team. Examples include but are not limited to:
· Soliciting/Scheduling bookings with Freight Forwarders
· Confirming/Scheduling shipments with Customers
· Organizing consolidations
· Requesting containers/transport
· Prepare and submit import/export logistics documentation as it relates to CBP
What We’re Looking For:
- 4-5 years of experience in Accounting
- Ideally coming from a Warehouse Operator such as a Distribution Company, Freight Forwarder, Etc.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on details and quality.
