What are the responsibilities and job description for the GTB Trade / DocTrade – Middle Office US –Miami position at NWorld Advisory, Tech & Operations?
We are looking for a Trade Finance Middle Office Analyst to join an international banking project focused on US Letters of Credit operations.
You will be part of the Global Transaction Banking (GTB) team, supporting the issuance, management, and control of Trade Finance instruments, including:
- Documentary Letters of Credit (LCs)
- Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs)
This role combines operational responsibilities with financial crime risk control and compliance (AML/CFT).
🔍 Key Responsibilities
🛡️ Risk Control & Financial Crime
- Analyze Trade Finance transactions to detect AML/CFT risks
- Perform sanctions screening checks
- Conduct adverse media analysis
- Apply Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for high-risk transactions
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and country risk frameworks
⚙️ Trade Finance Operations (Middle Office)
- Execute SBLC and Documentary LC operations in line with UCP 600 / ISP98
- Review commercial and financial documentation
- Process issuances, amendments, and drawdowns
- Prepare and distribute documentation accurately
- Monitor transactions and identify potential risks
- Ensure timely processing aligned with SLAs and internal procedures
🔗 Coordination & Process Improvement
- Act as liaison between Front Office, Back Office, clients, and stakeholders
- Escalate issues when necessary
- Contribute to operational efficiency and process improvements
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and control metrics
🎓 Requirements
📚 Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Law, or related field
- Master’s in International Trade (preferred)
💼 Experience & Knowledge
- Experience in banking operations, especially Trade Finance
- Strong understanding of:
- Letters of Credit (LCs) and SBLC
- UCP 600, ISBP rules
- International trade finance practices
- Experience with SWIFT (MT7xx messages) and Trade Finance systems
- Basic accounting knowledge (booking & reconciliation)
- AML / Financial Crime knowledge is a plus
🌐 Languages & Tools
- Advanced Spanish is a must
- Excel & PowerPoint (required)
- Power BI (nice to have)
