Litigation Attorney 4 years: (Hybrid) The Houston office of Brown Sims is seeking attorneys (4 years) for its Civil and Federal litigation (defense) docket. Practice areas include, general civil and federal litigation; the position included defense of general liability disputes, personal injury litigation, trucking/transportation, products liability, heathcare, and construction claims. Candidates should possess the ability to handle an active trial docket by attending hearings, attending depositions, drafting client reports, drafting motions, drafting standard litigation pleadings, and drafting settlement documents. Strong writing skills, attention to detail, time mangement and focus are required. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and highly competitive.
Qualifications:
- 4 years of experience.
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload from file inception to completion,
- Working collaboratively with supervising shareholder.
- Ability to draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Ability to draft and respond to discovery and to develop a discovery plan.
- Ability to develop and execute a litigation plan of action.
- Ability to communicate with clients and prepare initial and continually updated client reports; and
- Ability handle and conduct trial appearances, depositions, mediations, and court hearings.
