What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host TMC position at Brown Iron Brewhouse?
We are currently transitioning our space into a brand-new concept, and we’re looking for high-energy people to help us bring it to life once we open! We are moving towards launching a vibrant, Southwestern-inspired cantina that is heavily BBQ-forward. The vibe is casual and modern, centered around the idea of a community gathering spot where the grit of a Texas smokehouse meets the energy of a Mexican cantina. While we’re evolving our identity, we’re dedicated to keeping the quality- not just in the ingredients, but with our staff as well! The menu will contain things like slow-cooked meats, Tex-Mex and Southwestern inspired dishes, and some fan favorites from our other restaurants. This will be a menu that is inclusive of gluten-free and allergen-friendly diets, so we’re looking for people who are as committed as we are to providing a safe environment for the guests who have these requests. On the bar side, we will have many kinds of beers, a menu of crafted cocktails, and a heavy focus on fresh margaritas. We need a team that is comfortable in a fast-paced environment and genuinely enjoys the hospitality industry as we aren’t looking for corporate robots; we want people with personality! Especially people who can help us establish a new culture from day one, and people who can make the workplace feel like a haven, rather than a chore. Whether you’re working the pit or the front of house, our number one goal is to provide a relaxed but professional experience for our guests. TITLE/JOB DESCRIPTION: Host/Hostess

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet and welcome customers with enthusiasm
- Take carry-out orders and ensure accuracy
- Manage the rotation of tables to optimize seating capacity
- Balance seating across different sections to keep the kitchen and servers from getting overwhelmed
- Maintain an organized waitlist and provide guests with realistic, honest wait times during busy shifts
- Keep the entryway, menus, and front patio area clean and organized throughout the shift
- Act as the "air traffic control" between the front door, the servers, and the management team
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Passion for providing exceptional customer service
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible availability for both morning and night shifts
- Outgoing and calm under pressure
- A commitment to learning our allergen protocols to keep our guests safe
- Ability to quickly learn and use software for reservations, the POS system, and carry-out orders
- Comfortable being on your feet
- Flexible enough to work peak hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays
- Punctual and reliable, with a focus on teamwork and helping out wherever needed
- Fluency in English
- Driver's license and reliable transportation
- Desire and ability to be cross-trained in other areas of the restaurant

We specialize in draft beer from American craft breweries. You can find a large selection of beers from Michigan and find drafts which you may not find anywhere else. Our taps rotate daily with a mixture of stouts, IPAs, porters, sours, ciders and meads.
Brown Iron Brewhouse is not only a tap house but also brews in-house as well with a variety of beers on tap. Each small batch uses the finest ingredients to create the best craft beer possible.

We said we love great food and we mean eat! We specialize in fresh food made daily. Enjoy our pulled pork, brisket, “beer-can” chicken or bacon smoked fresh in our smoker each day. Enjoy a fabulous salad, ground brisket burger or house-made pretzels. We specialize in Gluten free so you can find something for a special diet. Our dressings and BBQ sauces are made from scratch here at Brown Iron too!
