Directors are responsible to Partners. Responsibilities of Directors include those of a Senior Manager, plus the following: Directors participate in managing segments or niches, are viewed and respected as a leader in their area of focus both internally and externally, maintain key relationships with client executives, and actively participate in generation of new business. Directors are very accomplished with managing difficult relationships and/or conversations in an appropriate way. They are recognized as highly skilled, knowledgeable resources. Directors interact with clients and staff in a manner similar to Partners, and they recognize and appropriately respond to risk management and quality control issues.

What your day looks like:
- Directs engagements, which includes the timeline, budget, schedule, and Associates required.
- Reviews and prepares and work performed by others in the firm to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Generally Accepted Auditing Standards, Internal Revenue Code, SEC, BESOPs, and/or other professional standards.
- Performs “second” or quality reviews of financial statements, tax returns, and other projects.
- Performs research and planning according to the current laws and/or Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and other regulatory agencies or professional standards.
- Assists clients with business and tax planning as appropriate.
- Assists in training all levels of other Associates in both formal training sessions and on the job training.
- Usually specializes in one specific practice area.
- Usually has final responsibility to clients for the services our firm provides to the client.
- Responsible for billing and collection for some clients.
- Responsible for multiple jobs at one time.
- Responsible for some proposal and practice development activities.
- Participates in the strategic initiatives of the firm.
- Participates as needed in administrative activities of the firm.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Master’s degree in Accounting preferred.
- 12 years of public accounting experience preferred.
- CPA designation required.
- Intermediate to advanced level Microsoft Office Suite.
- ProSystems, Engagement or other related software experience preferred.
- Organizational, and analytical skills.
- Strong and polished negotiator.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, supervisory, and technological skills.
- Highly motivated with strong work ethic and a team player.
- Willing to stay up to date through continuing education and continuous reading of professional journals.
- Ability to supervise and train others.
- Ability to develop and manage client relationships.
- Visible within the business and/or niche community in which she/he works.
- Developing referral source networks and/or methods to attract new clients.
- Developing entrepreneurial skills.
