What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanic Intern (LTE) - Sheriff's Office position at Brown County?
Performs varied entry level mechanical, maintenance and automotive repair work of a routine nature under general supervision for work experience purposes.
Applies the specialized knowledge of the department.
Under direct supervision of certified mechanics:
Performs general labor duties to include but not limited to sweeping floors, wiping down tools, painting, lifting/carrying/moving supplies and equipment, etc.
Enters data into computer.
Maintains confidentiality for the law enforcement area.Education and Experience:
Current Student
High school diploma or currently seeking.
Applies the specialized knowledge of the department.
Under direct supervision of certified mechanics:
- Mounts/dismounts and changes tires.
- Performs oil change and lubrication on variety of vehicles.
- Assists in the repair of vehicles.
- Assists in wiring and installation of law enforcement electronic equipment.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public.
Ability to work the require hours of the position.
