• 1-year contract with potential for extension or full-time conversion.

Brooksource is searching for Product Owner II to join our Fortune 500 Energy & Utilities client’s cloud center of excellence team. The successful individual will hold at least 5 years working in the utility industry and has a entrepreneurial mindset with a strong inclination towards action.

The Product Owner is responsible for owning the product backlog and guiding the agile delivery of a Salesforce-based solution supporting Demand Side Management (DSM) program tracking. This role serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the Salesforce delivery team, ensuring requirements are clearly defined, prioritized, and delivered according to Agile best practices.

Responsibilities will include:

• Defines and manages product roadmap
• Build, groom and prioritize the product backlog, continuously managing expectations with relevant stakeholders – including the senior leadership team
• Manage the sprint planning process and participate in all relevant ceremonies (reviews of prior sprints, grooming, retrospectives, etc.)
• Develop a deep contextual understanding of our customer, worker and user needs
• Gather market feedback through user interactions, focus groups, and by performing industry research to support future development
• Write detailed functional specifications, user stories and product documentation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams of developers, designers and analysts to implement and deliver new products and features
• Collaborate with the organization on vision, strategy, decisioning, tactical execution, and measurement systems
• Communicate roadmap stages and timelines internally with key stakeholders

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Must-Have Technical Skills:

• Prior Product Owner/Agile experience
• Salesforce experience
• Must be able to interact with business and IT vendors/show experience they have managed that type of relationship before

Highly Desired Skills:

• Experiences as a Product Analyst
• Agile Product Owner certification
• “Black Belt” Six Sigma certification
• Experience with Jira
• Experience with Salesforce
• Experience working within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
• Experience with teams developing and shipping software

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Strong Salesforce experience, ideally within Energy & Utilities Cloud or Demand Side Management (DSM) programs
• Demonstrated ability to partner with both business stakeholders and IT/vendor teams
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Background working in a regulated, KPI-driven environment

You Might Not Be a Fit If You

• No hands-on Product Owner experience in an agile environment, or those who have not owned and prioritized a product backlog
• Prefers limited stakeholder interaction or have not previously partnered closely with business leaders, IT teams, and external vendors
• Without experience working on or supporting software delivery teams
