What are the responsibilities and job description for the Speech Therapist/Audiologist position at Brooklyn Hospital Center?
The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for administration and direct application of Speech-Language Pathology treatment modalities as prescribed by a referring Physician. Evaluates plans, directs and treats all patients referred to Speech Language Pathology. Assists patients to obtain maximum performance and function in society while learning to live a routine “normal” life within the constraints of their disability. Participates in performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities.
Qualifications:
- Masters of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from accredited college or university
- Hospital-based experience and or Clinical Fellowship.
- New York State License Speech Language Pathologist
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.)
- Certificate in Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Competency in use of CSL and nasometry equipment.
- Experienced in inpatient setting; Inpatient stroke assessment competencies.
