What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Specialist position at Brooklyn Hospital Center?
Under general supervision of Director and Supervisor, performs a variety of payroll required functions which include but not limited to preparation of payroll data for processing, audits of records and the preparation and analysis of a variety of payroll and finance reports. Verifies and maintain payroll data/records ensuring all financial data are recorded in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles consistent with established policy and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in Accounting or related field
- Three (3) or more years of responsible accounting, payroll bookkeeping experience related to data reporting reconciliations.
- Knowledge of principles, practices and procedures relating to payroll systems, computerized accounting procedures and the regulatory requirements in processing payroll transactions.
- Knowledge of personal computer applications – Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Windows automated integrated payroll system.
