Job Description:
The Substitute Bus Aide assists the bus driver in maintaining a safe, orderly and supportive environment for students during transportation. Responsibilities include supervising students on the bus, helping with seating and safety equipment, and assisting students with special needs. The Bus Aide ensures that students follow bus rules and provides support as needed throughout the route.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist students with boarding, seating and exiting the bus safely.
- Ensure seat belts or safety equipment are properly used.
- Monitor student behavior and maintain order on the bus.
- Provide assistance to students with disabilities or special needs.
- Communicate concerns or incidents to the bus driver and/or school staff.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children or individuals with special needs is a plus.
- Ability to follow instructions and remain calm in emergency situations.
- Reliable, patient, and safety-focused.
