Job Description:
The Construction Manager supports fiber infrastructure projects involving outside plant (OSP), inside plant (ISP), utility pole work, and ground facilities. This role requires strong organizational skills, advanced Excel capabilities (including VLOOKUP), and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include supporting construction activities, coordinating utility and permitting processes, ensuring compliance with state/local regulations, and maintaining accurate project documentation. The Construction Manager represents Crown Castle as a subject matter expert and supports all aspects of fiber relocation and enterprise projects.
Key Qualifications:
- H.S. Diploma or GED required, or equivalent experience
- 0–2 years of telecommunications/wireless experience (OSP/ISP fiber preferred)
- Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP), PowerBI, and project organization
- Knowledge of permitting, pole/conduit licensing, and utility processes
- Strong communication and multitasking skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend Kick-Off meetings and support Construction and Project Managers
- Analyze data using PowerBI and similar BI tools
- Participate in transportation and customer meetings as SME
- Assist with site visits, safety inspections, and construction closeouts
- Manage pole transfers, scheduling vendors, creating POs, and invoice reconciliation
- Coordinate NJUNS/SPANS activities and utility/vendor timelines
- Support relocation projects, change management tickets, pole maps, and work orders
- Assist with overlash applications and permitting/licensing processes
- Maintain accurate project tracking and As-Built validations
- Serve as escalation point for contractor corrective actions
- Collaborate with Network Construction Managers, Engineers, NOC, Field Ops, and customers
