Key Responsibilities
- Operate asphalt paver screeds to achieve proper grade, slope, depth, and smoothness.
- Adjust screed controls to meet project specifications and surface requirements.
- Work closely with the paver operator, foreman, and paving crew to maintain consistent asphalt flow.
- Monitor mat quality and make real-time adjustments as needed.
- Perform daily inspections and basic preventative maintenance on screed equipment.
- Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Follow all DOT, OSHA, environmental, and company safety procedures.
- Work flexible hours, including daytime, nighttime, and weekend shifts as required by project schedules.
- Maintain a respectful, team-oriented, and safety-focused work environment.
- Prior experience operating asphalt screeds required.
- Strong understanding of asphalt paving processes, grades, and tolerances.
- Ability to read and follow project plans and specifications.
- Class A CDL preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and extended hours when needed.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Team player with a positive attitude and commitment to safety.
