Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of construction sites, including cleaning, grading, and layout.
- Load, unload, and transport asphalt and construction materials to and from the site.
- Spread, rake, and level asphalt to meet specifications using hand tools.
- Operate basic equipment such as rollers, tampers, and shovels as directed.
- Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are clean and in good working condition.
- Follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the foreman or supervisor.
- Valid driver’s license (Class A CDL is highly desirable).
- Prior experience in the asphalt paving industry (highly preferred).
- A positive attitude and ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience operating small machinery or hand tools, such as rakes, shovels, rollers, tampers, or paving machines.
- Familiarity with asphalt handling, paving techniques, and proper compaction practices.
- Previous work in physically demanding environments, such as lifting heavy materials, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and standing for long periods.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and extended hours when needed.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Team player with a positive attitude and commitment to safety.
