Shipping Clerk (Freight and Parcel)

Position Summary :(Shift is 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM)

Brimar Industries is seeking a Shipping Coordinator to support our Crowd Control Warehouse operations in Jessup, PA. This role is responsible for coordinating outbound parcel and freight shipments, ensuring orders are shipped accurately, on time, and in the most cost-effective manner.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This position works closely with the warehouse team, customer service, and carriers to ensure an exceptional shipping experience for our customers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Coordinate daily parcel shipments using carriers such as UPS and FedEx.
• Schedule and coordinate Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) and Full Truckload (FTL) freight shipments.
• Prepare shipping documentation including bills of lading, shipping labels, packing lists, and other required paperwork.
• Obtain freight quotes and select carriers based on cost, service level, and delivery requirements.
• Verify shipment accuracy, weights, dimensions, and packaging prior to shipment.
• Communicate with carriers regarding pickups, delivery appointments, tracking, delays, and shipment issues.
• Monitor shipments from departure through delivery and proactively resolve shipping exceptions.
• Assist with freight claims involving damaged or lost shipments.
• Maintain accurate shipping records within the company's ERP and shipping systems.
• Work closely with warehouse personnel to prioritize shipments and meet customer deadlines.
• Assist with inventory movement and general shipping department responsibilities as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years of shipping, logistics, warehouse, or transportation experience preferred.
• Experience with parcel shipping systems such as UPS WorldShip or FedEx Ship Manager preferred.
• Experience coordinating LTL and freight shipments strongly preferred.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn ERP and shipping software.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple departments.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to safely move throughout a warehouse environment.
• Ability to bend, reach, squat, and perform repetitive tasks.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
