Our client is a well-established organization who specializes in designing and distributing various clothing items and accessories. They are looking to hire a qualified Staff Accountant on a contract to hire basis. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for participating in the month-end close process, performing various account reconciliations and helping prepare financial statements. The ideal candidate would be able to interview ASAP and start shortly after.

Staff Accountant Responsibilities
- Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files as well as reconciling accounts
- Participates in continuous improvement of accounting process and procedures
- Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
- Manage timely Month End Close Process
- Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and statement of cash flows
- Reconciles bank accounts monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks
- Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts
- Maintains and balances and automated consolidation system by inputting data
- Sales tax filing and compliance in Avalara
- Review expense reports and process them within the expense platform by approving and importing into accounting system
- Assist with payroll administration duties, including payroll journal entry.
- Inventory reconciliation to Investigate inventory discrepancies and take corrective action
- Other duties as assigned
- 3 years of experience including month-end exposure, bank reconciliation and journal entry preparation
- Must be comfortable in Excel, maneuvering and creating v-lookups and pivot tables
- Attention to detail and a process improvement mindset
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Experience with A2000 preferred, not required
