Job Title: Cash Applications Specialist

Location: Itasca, IL

Pay Range: $22/HR – $24/HR (Based on experience & qualifications)

Brilliant Financial Staffing has been engaged in a search for a Cash Applications Specialist for a well-established, global supply chain and logistics organization experiencing continued growth. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity created due to expansion and the addition of a new role within the accounting department.

The Cash Applications Specialist will work closely with the Cash Applications team, reporting to the Cash Applications Manager, and supporting both cash applications and select accounts payable/data entry functions. This client is looking to hire quickly, so qualified candidates are encouraged to apply immediately!

Cash Applications Specialist Responsibilities:

• Apply daily cash receipts including ACH, wires, credit cards, and checks
• Process and verify deposits, ensuring accuracy of payment details and documentation
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies including short payments, overpayments, and misapplied payments
• Process offsets including credit memos, deductions, and intercompany transactions
• Scan, deposit, and maintain records of checks and remittances using in-office check scanning equipment
• Support lockbox processing and daily cash application workflows
• Assist with customer inquiries related to transfers, refunds, and general ledger requests
• Utilize Excel to compile and upload remittance files for large, high-volume payments
• Assist the Accounts Payable team with data entry after completing cash application responsibilities
• Provide general administrative and data entry support as needed

Qualifications:

• 1 years of Cash Applications experience required
• High School Diploma required
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a high-volume environment
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook
