Role Overview:

Brilliant Financial Staffing is seeking a Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist for a well-established organization in Deerfield, IL. This is a contract opportunity for 6 months, with the potential to transition to a permanent position. The Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist will focus on customer account reconciliations, cash application, payment dispute resolution, and journal entries. The ideal candidate will have recent SAP experience, knowledge of forward contracts, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist Responsibilities:

• Analyze and reconcile customer forward contracts to ensure accurate processing.
• Prepare customer refunds and supporting documentation for review and approval.
• Review daily lockbox uploads, bank reports, cash application data, and check batches.
• Research and resolve customer payment discrepancies and disputes.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations.
• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
• Respond to customer inquiries and resolve account issues promptly.
• Assist with special projects, ad hoc reporting, and internal and external audit requests.
• Provide backup support for vendor maintenance and travel administration as needed.

Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist Qualifications:

• Previous accounts receivable and general accounting experience.
• Experience working with customer forward contracts is required.
• Recent hands-on SAP experience is required.
• Experience preparing and posting journal entries.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently, learn new processes quickly, and manage competing priorities.
• Strong reliability, attention to detail, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Excel, including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs, preferred.
