Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Morton Grove, IL – 100% Onsite
Pay Range: $85K–$90K (Based on Experience & Qualifications)

Role Overview:
Brilliant Financial Staffing has been engaged in the search for a Senior Accountant for a well-established construction-related organization located in Morton Grove, IL. This is a direct hire opportunity due to a retirement within the company. The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller and support a small accounting team while handling full-cycle accounting across multiple entities. This role is primarily responsible for month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, payroll, and construction WIP accounting.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities:

·        Perform general accounting and intercompany entries across multiple entities

·        Prepare and post journal entries and support month-end close processes

·        Process and review payroll and assist with payroll tax filings

·        Prepare bank reconciliations, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules

·        Prepare financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow)

·        Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

·        Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

·        Assist with audits and maintain internal controls

·        Handle inventory reconciliation and Construction WIP (over/under billing)

·        Complete sales and use tax filings and other assigned duties

Senior Accountant Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

·        5 years of accounting experience

·        Construction accounting experience-REQUIRED

·        Payroll processing and tax experience preferred

·        Experience with ERP systems (Spectrum/Viewpoint a plus)

·        Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Macros)

·        Strong knowledge of GAAP, GL, reconciliations, and financial statements

·        Experience with WIP accounting highly preferred
