Job Title: Accounting Specialist

Location: Madison, WI

Pay Range: $65K-$70K Salary (Based on Experience & Qualifications)

Role Overview:

Brilliant Financial Staffing has been engaged in a search for an Accounting Specialist with our client located in Madison, WI. Our client is a well-established food production organization who has experienced tremendous growth recently. They are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join their team on a direct hire basis as this is a newly created position. The Accounting Specialist will primarily be focused on performing transactional accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. Additionally, this Accounting Specialist will assist with some month end responsibilities.  The ideal candidate for this role will be able to interview and start shortly after.

Accounting Specialist Responsibilities:

• Manage the full AP cycle for multiple entities
• Prepare weekly payment runs and confirm all approvals and documentation are complete
• Maintain vendor records and support vendor inquiries
• Receiving invoices and verifying required approvals
• Matching invoices to purchase orders, packing slips, and other support
• Ensuring coding accuracy across departments and entities
• Perform daily AR functions
• Process daily cash application across multiple entities
• Review the AR aging report weekly and escalate or act on overdue balances
• Communicate with customers regarding remittances, short-pays, and missing information
• Support customer account reconciliations and research discrepancies
• Perform customer invoicing 
• Assist with month end reconciliations
• Perform accounts reconciliations

Accounting Specialist Qualifications:

• 3 years of AP & AR experience-REQUIRED
• Manufacturing industry experience-REQUIRED
• Experience within Bill.com or QuickBooks-Preferred
• Strong communication skills
• Intermediate Excel skills preferred
• Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
