Role Description The Director of Nursing is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Spokane, WA, responsible for overseeing clinical operations and ensuring high-quality patient care. This role manages nursing staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation, while promoting evidence-based practice and adherence to clinical standards. The Director of Nursing develops, reviews, and updates policies and procedures, ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements, and leads quality improvement initiatives. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising patient assessments and care plans, collaborating with care coordinators and other healthcare professionals, and serving as a clinical resource for staff and families. The role also involves monitoring clinical documentation, managing risk and infection control practices, and supporting a positive, inclusive, and safety-focused work environment.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Washington and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent; advanced degree (MSN) preferred.
- Demonstrated clinical leadership experience in home care, hospice, acute care, or related healthcare settings, with prior supervisory or management responsibility.
- Knowledge of nursing standards of practice, home care regulations, accreditation requirements, and quality improvement methodologies.
