The Manufacturing Engineering Manager leads and develops the manufacturing engineering function across assembly and machining operations within a vertically integrated flow control organization. This role provides technical leadership, drives continuous improvement, and ensures manufacturing systems are optimized for safety, quality, delivery, and cost. The position works closely with Operations, Engineering, and Quality to achieve production targets and long-term strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead, mentor, and develop the manufacturing engineering team.
- Align departmental objectives with overall plant and business goals.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
- Support capital investments, equipment upgrades, and long-term operational planning.
Assembly Operations
- Design and enhance assembly processes to improve efficiency and workflow.
- Maintain and upgrade automation systems to meet production demands.
- Develop and standardize work instructions and process documentation.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to support growth.
Process Improvement & Cost Optimization
- Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives through process and material flow improvements.
- Improve OEE and overall production throughput.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Machining & CNC Operations
- Oversee development and optimization of CNC machining processes (mills, lathes, multi-axis).
- Enhance efficiency through tooling improvements, cycle time reduction, and fixture design.
- Partner with Maintenance to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Lead manufacturing readiness for new product launches.
- Develop process flows, work instructions, and tooling requirements.
- Support prototype builds and transition to full-scale production.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or technical degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience in machining and/or assembly.
- 3 years of leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining, tooling, fixturing, and programming fundamentals.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficient in reading engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Familiarity with ERP and production planning systems preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
