Role Description
This is a part-time position for an Accounting Specialist, located in Boulder, CO. The Accounting Specialist will use strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, excellent communication skills to support the CFO in performing the following duties:
- Overall responsibility for the daily, monthly, quarterly and year end accounting activities. This includes GL account journal entries and account reconciliation; entry and posting of all accounts payables, accounts receivables, and payroll data entry.
- Streamline, automate, develop, and implement best practice accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes when needed
- Liaise with internal business partners and cross-functional teams to gather data, improve processes and support business needs.
- Support the external tax reporting and provide reporting schedules and requested information for the year end external tax and quarterly reviews.
- Support all system upgrades/implementation efforts.
- Support the monthly internal management reporting function including ad-hoc reporting.
Salary Range: $35 - $55/hour depending on experience
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Technical accounting knowledge, including US GAAP
- Project accounting system experience a plus (Unanet A/E, Unanet GovCon, Deltek, etc.)
- Working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office Software tools
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
- Some experience with bookkeeping, consulting services
