Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with developmental milestones, curriculum standards, and individualized education programs (IEPs).
- Manage classroom activities to create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity and active participation.
- Collaborate with families, specialists, and support staff to monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
- Utilize behavioral therapy techniques and behavior management strategies to support children with behavioral challenges or disabilities.
- Conduct assessments such as standardized testing and ongoing formative evaluations to track developmental progress.
- Mentor and supervise assistant teachers or aides, providing guidance on instructional methods and classroom management.
- Maintain detailed documentation of student development, IEP goals, communication logs, and behavioral reports in compliance with licensing requirements.
Skills
- Proven experience in early childhood education or preschool settings with classroom management expertise.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, literacy education, math instruction, and curriculum development.
- Familiarity with special education practices including working with students with autism, developmental disabilities, or speech therapy needs.
- Ability to design effective lesson plans that incorporate Montessori or other child-centered pedagogies.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in behavioral health techniques such as behavioral therapy and behavior management strategies.

Pay: $18.50 - $23.00 per hour
