Job Summary
Bright Paths Ahead, Inc. is seeking a qualified and compassionate Administrator to oversee daily operations of our licensed Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) serving youth ages 6–17. The Administrator ensures that the program operates in full compliance with California Department of Social Services (CCLD) regulations and the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) Medi-Cal certification standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, clinical understanding, and a commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive care.
Responsibilities
Oversee all daily operations of the STRTP, ensuring full compliance with Title 22, Interim Licensing Standards (ILS), and applicable federal, state, and county regulations.
- Ensure the facility consistently maintains staff-to-child ratios and appropriate supervision at all times.
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to staff, promoting a therapeutic, safe, and nurturing environment.
- Coordinate with clinical, social work, and mental health professionals to ensure individualized care and treatment planning.
- Oversee admissions, discharges, and transitions, maintaining required documentation in accordance with CCLD and DHCS standards.
- Implement and monitor policies, procedures, and staff training related to trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, medication management, and client rights.
- Conduct regular facility inspections, program audits, and staff evaluations to ensure compliance and quality improvement.
- Maintain active communication with licensing representatives, county placing agencies, and families/guardians.
- Manage budgets, staffing schedules, and operational resources efficiently.
- Ensure all incidents, special occurrences, and complaints are reported and documented per CCLD requirements.
- Foster a positive, supportive culture that aligns with Bright Paths Ahead’s mission and values.
Qualifications
Must possess a valid CCLD Administrator Certificate for STRTP (per ILS 87064.2).
- Minimum of two years of full-time administrative or supervisory experience in a human services or residential care program serving youth.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred.
- Knowledge of Title 22, Interim Licensing Standards, and trauma-informed care practices.
- Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams and managing complex behavioral and emotional needs.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with staff, clients, and external partners.
- Demonstrated understanding of confidentiality laws, cultural competence, and youth rights in care.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with probation, child welfare, and mental health systems.
- Familiarity with Medi-Cal billing and Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement (QAPI) processes.
- CPR, First Aid, and CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification.
